About Evoke Media

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Evoke Media is published by EVOKE Immersive Technologies, which is responsible for the personal information this page describes. This page explains what Evoke Media collects, why, and what happens to it. You can read the whole site without telling us anything about yourself. We ask for your email address only if you sign up for the newsletter.

What we collect

If you sign up for Evoke Media Weekly, we keep your email address, the page you signed up on, the date you signed up, and whether you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we also keep the date you did.

When you read a story, your browser tells our server which story it is, so we can count how often each story is read. That message carries nothing about you. To stop one person’s repeat visits being counted many times, our server briefly keeps a scrambled version of your IP address in its memory, for up to 30 minutes. It can’t be turned back into your address, it is never written to our database, and it is gone when the server restarts. What we store is only the count: which story, from which outlet, in which section, on which day.

If you work on Evoke Media, you sign in to our newsroom with an email address and password. We keep your name, email address and role.

Our hosting and database providers keep their own technical logs of requests to the site, which can include IP addresses.

Why we collect it

We use your email address only to send you Evoke Media Weekly. We use story counts to see which stories people read.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep the record that you did, so we don’t send you the newsletter again by mistake. If you would rather we deleted it entirely, ask us and we will.

The scrambled IP address used for story counts is kept in memory for up to 30 minutes. Staff accounts are kept until they are removed.

Who processes it

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS Amplify) hosts the site and serves its pages.
  • Supabase runs our database, which holds newsletter sign-ups, and handles staff sign-in.
  • GoHighLevel sends the email edition of Evoke Media Weekly, so your address is shared with it for that purpose.

They handle this information for us, to provide those services.

We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t track what you read. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on the site.

Cookies and browser storage

The public site sets no cookies.

If you choose light or dark mode with the theme button, your browser remembers the choice in its own storage, under the name “evoke-theme”. It stays on your device and isn’t sent to us. If you set the theme back to follow your system, it is removed.

Staff who sign in to the newsroom get a sign-in cookie, which keeps them signed in. Readers never get it.

Unsubscribing and deleting your information

To unsubscribe from Evoke Media Weekly, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or write to info@evokemedia.io.

To ask what information we hold about you, or for it to be deleted, write to info@evokemedia.io from the email address concerned.

Children

Evoke Media isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up for the newsletter, tell us and we will delete the address.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
